20 October marks World Evidence-Based Healthcare (EBHC) Day, a global initiative to raise awareness of the need for better evidence to inform healthcare policy, practice, and decision-making.

In 2024, World EBHC Day centers on the theme “Health and Beyond: from Evidence to Action”. This campaign emphasizes the crucial role of intersectoral collaboration in tackling the complex challenges posed by simultaneous global crises, known as a "polycrisis". More information can be found on the World EBHC Day website.

We are proud to be an evidence ambassador for this year's campaign. For this occasion, we wrote a blog on the importance of knowledge translation and trust in polycrisis times. In this blog, we talk about the workshop on evidence dissemination we hosted at the recent Global Evidence Summit. Our hands-on workshop equipped researchers and review authors with practical tools for effective evidence dissemination, focusing on evidence syntheses. The workshop emphasized the importance of tailoring messages, using appropriate channels, to the target audience. Participants received multiple resources and examples of dissemination products, and were guided through an interactive session focused on developing dissemination plans.

Our blog also highlights how effective communication and trust-building among stakeholders can enhance the implementation of evidence-based practices, leading to better health outcomes. It underscores the need for continuous collaboration and transparency to navigate these turbulent times successfully. In addition, we touch upon the benefits and risks associated with new technologies such as artificial intelligence.
