World EBHC Day 2026: Evidence and AI: People at the Centre

World EBHC Day

The World Evidence-based Healthcare (EBHC) Day 2026 campaign has officially launched under the theme "Evidence and AI: People at the Centre."

Held annually on 20 October, World EBHC Day brings together organisations committed to promoting evidence-informed decision-making in healthcare.

With artificial intelligence (AI) becoming increasingly integrated into healthcare and research, this year's campaign encourages reflection on both its promise and its challenges. The focus is not only on what AI can do to support evidence-informed healthcare, but also on how patients, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and communities can help shape its responsible use.

The campaign encourages discussion on several important topics, including:

  • How patients, communities and the public can help shape the use of AI in healthcare and research;
  • How ethics and integrity can be safeguarded when using AI in evidence-based healthcare;
  • How AI can innovate, automate and transform the evidence ecosystems;
  • How reliable, evidence-based health information can remain visible and accessible in an increasingly AI-driven information landscape.

World EBHC Day 2026 invites researchers, healthcare professionals, communicators, policymakers, patients, and members of the public to join the conversation by sharing blogs, videos, podcasts, or organising events.
